Fostering Team Spirit: House Allotment for Grades 5 to 8

On July 13, 2026, our school successfully conducted the House Allotment event for students of Grades 5 to 8. This exciting milestone officially inducted our middle schoolers into their respective school houses, laying the foundation for a vibrant year of healthy competition and collaboration.

The allotment process sparked immense enthusiasm as students proudly embraced their house identities, colors, and mottos. This tradition aims to build strong leadership skills, foster sportsmanship, and nurture a deep sense of camaraderie among peers. We look forward to seeing our young leaders excel in upcoming inter-house sports and cultural events!

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

The Annual Sports Day for Classes 1 to 8 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit on 19th December 2025. The school playground was beautifully decorated, and students participated actively in various track and field events such as races, relay, long jump, and fun games. The programme began with a march-past by the four houses, followed by a motivating opening ceremony. Teachers and parents cheered loudly, encouraging the young athletes to give their best performance. Students displayed discipline, teamwork, and true sportsmanship throughout the event. Every participant showed confidence and determination while competing in different events. After a day filled with excitement and healthy competition, Blue House emerged as the overall winner by securing the highest number of points. The Sports Day concluded with prize distribution and a vote of thanks, leaving students with joyful memories and a strong message of fitness, unity, and perseverance.

Tribal Dance Competition

Tribal Dance Competition Grade Inter-House Dance Competition – Different Dance Styles

A vibrant Dance Competition was held in our school on 29 November 2025, creating an atmosphere of energy and enthusiasm among students. For Classes 1 to 4, a Tribal Dance Competition was organized where young participants performed traditional tribal dances with colourful costumes, rhythmic steps, and lively expressions. Their performances showcased India’s rich cultural heritage and were appreciated by teachers and judges.

For Classes 5 to 8, an Inter-House Dance Competition featuring different dance styles was conducted. Students represented their respective houses and performed classical, folk, semi-classical, and fusion dance forms. The competition encouraged teamwork, confidence, and stage presence.

Judges evaluated performances based on coordination, expression, costumes, and creativity. Winners were applauded, and all participants were appreciated for their efforts. The event promoted cultural awareness, healthy competition, and unity among students, making it a memorable and successful celebration.

Inter-House News Anchoring Competition

As part of Hindi Pakhvadi (Week), the school organized an Inter-House News Anchoring Competition on 12 September 2025 for students of Classes 1 to 8. Participants showcased their confidence and language skills by presenting news bulletins entirely in Hindi, covering current affairs, school updates, and cultural segments. Dressed as professional anchors, students impressed the audience with clear pronunciation, engaging delivery, and creative presentation styles. Judges appreciated their command over the language and stage presence. The event not only celebrated the richness of Hindi but also enhanced students’ public-speaking abilities and inspired them to communicate effectively in their national language.

Inter-House Garba Competition

An energetic Inter-House Garba Competition was held on 06 September 2025 for students of Classes 1 to 8, celebrating the vibrant spirit of Navratri. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, participants from all houses performed graceful Garba steps to lively folk music. The competition showcased teamwork, rhythm, and creativity as each house presented unique formations and coordinated moves. Teachers and judges appreciated the enthusiastic performances and encouraged students to preserve and enjoy Indian cultural traditions. The event filled the campus with festive cheer and provided students an opportunity to display their talent while strengthening house spirit and camaraderie.

Vasant Panchami Celebration

The vibrant celebration of Vasant Panchami at SMT S G School was a sight to behold, filled with joyous energy and traditional fervor! Vasant Panchami, marking the arrival of spring, is a festival that celebrates knowledge, art, and nature. It’s a time when we come together to pay tribute to Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of wisdom, music, and arts.

This year, our school campus was adorned in bright yellow and white hues, symbolizing the blooming flowers and the season of renewal. The day began with a special Saraswati Vandana to invoke the blessings of the Goddess, where students and teachers participated with great enthusiasm, singing devotional songs.

A Day of Colors, Culture, and Creativity

Our students showcased their creativity through various activities such as:

  • Traditional Dance Performances: Colorful dance performances filled the air with excitement, reflecting the vibrant spirit of spring. Each performance was a beautiful expression of cultural heritage.

  • Saree & Kurta Contest: Students and teachers dressed in stunning yellow outfits, which is considered the color of the festival, adding an extra layer of brightness to the celebration. The saree and kurta contest brought out the fashionistas in everyone!

  • Creative Craft Corner: Students exhibited their artistic skills by creating beautiful Saraswati idols and floral decorations. The craft corner buzzed with creativity as the children made bookmarks, greeting cards, and paper flowers, all showcasing their artistic flair.

  • Poetry and Essay Competitions: The literary talent of our students shone through as they participated in the poetry and essay competitions based on themes related to the significance of knowledge, spring, and Goddess Saraswati.

A Feast for the Senses

The school grounds also featured a special food stall offering traditional treats like khichdi, boondi ladoos, and sweets made of yellow saffron, enhancing the festive mood.

Students, teachers, and parents come together to participate in a range of exciting events, from sprints and relays to long jumps and fun games. The day kicks off with an inspiring opening ceremony, followed by thrilling competitions that showcase talent and determination. Spectators cheer passionately, creating an electrifying atmosphere. Awards and medals honor outstanding performances, fostering a sense of achievement. Beyond competition, the event promotes fitness, camaraderie, and sportsmanship. The Annual Sports Day is a memorable occasion that inspires everyone to embrace the joy of sports.

Pencil Waste Activity

On 29th November 2024, an exciting Pencil Waste Craft Activity will be conducted for grades 1 to 4. Students will learn the importance of recycling by using pencil shavings creatively to make art. Encourage them to bring pencil waste and basic craft materials like glue, paper, and colors. Teachers will guide the students to design beautiful patterns, flowers, or animals using pencil shavings. This activity promotes environmental awareness, creativity, and fine motor skills. The best creations will be displayed on the school board to celebrate their efforts. Let’s turn waste into wonderful art and make learning fun and meaningful!

Expert Talk on Health

An Expert Talk on Health is scheduled for 27th November 2024 for students of grades 5 to 8. The session will focus on promoting healthy habits, balanced nutrition, and the importance of physical and mental well-being. A health expert will guide students on topics such as maintaining hygiene, eating nutritious food, staying active, and managing stress. The talk will include interactive discussions, real-life examples, and practical tips to empower students to make informed choices about their health.

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the significance of a healthy lifestyle, especially during the growing years. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and clear their doubts. The session will also include a fun activity or quiz to engage the students actively. We look forward to fostering a positive attitude towards health and wellness among young learners.

Expert Talk on the “Impact of Social Media on our Lives”

An Expert Talk on the Impact of Social Media on Our Lives will be held for grades 1 to 4. The session aims to create awareness among young learners about the role of social media in our daily lives, focusing on both its benefits and potential risks.

The expert will explain how social media can be a tool for learning and creativity, while also emphasizing the importance of using it responsibly. Topics such as screen time limits, online safety, and the importance of real-world connections will be discussed in a simple, age-appropriate manner.

Through engaging stories, examples, and a Q&A session, children will learn how to make mindful choices and stay safe in the digital world. This session will empower them with positive habits for balanced usage of technology, laying the foundation for healthy online behavior.

Pot Decoration with Ceramic Clay

On 20th November 2024, an engaging Pot Decoration with Ceramic Clay activity will be organized for students of grades 5 to 8. This creative session will provide an excellent opportunity for students to explore their artistic talents and learn the craft of decorating pots using ceramic clay.

Students will be guided on how to mold clay into beautiful designs, patterns, and textures to enhance plain pots. They can further decorate their creations with paints, beads, and other embellishments. The activity promotes creativity, patience, and fine motor skills while offering hands-on experience with art and craft techniques.

The decorated pots will be displayed, and the most innovative designs will receive recognition. This activity aims to inspire students to express their creativity, appreciate handmade crafts, and develop a sense of achievement. Let’s make this a fun and memorable event for all participants!
